OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training Class
The OSHA 10-Hour Training course for general industry is intended to provide students with an overview of the basic health and safety hazards present in the workplace. This course also provides participants with an overview of how the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA operates. There are no prerequisites required to take the 10-Hour general industry course. This course is an excellent source of information necessary to people working in the field of safety.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
This course will provide participants with a fundamental understanding of basic occupational safety and health topics that will instruct them on recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
This Program will benefit all employees, from those newly hired to the long-term employees who could use refresher training. It is also beneficial to Supervisors or Inspectors to reinforce elements of safety and health they need to be vigilant of and preserve in order to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
TOPICS COVERED
There are topics that are mandatory for this class and several that are deemed elective and optional. The elective topics are ergonomics, bloodborne pathogens, material handling machine guarding, introduction to industrial hygiene, safety & health programs, struck by injuries, caught between injuries, ladder safety, confined spaces, powered industrial vehicles, lock out/tag out, welding cutting and brazing.
CLASS LOGISTICS
The course will be conducted over 2 consecutive days, October 9th and 10th, 2019 in the Safety Council’s classroom in our new location at 5500 South Marginal Road. Cost is $159 for members and $199 for non-members. Enter the classroom on the southside of the building. Free parking is available. The class will begin each day at 8 am and finish at 4 pm.
Light refreshments will be served each day and participants will be on their own for lunch.
