The first step in the development of a Personal Protective Equipment, (PPE) Program is to conduct a comprehensive hazard assessment of the workplace. The selection of PPE is based upon the findings of the assessments. These assessments need to be documented and maintained on file by the employer. If new equipment has been brought into the workplace or job tasks change, another hazard assessment is required to include these changes.
With the ever-changing work environment, when was the last time you took a hard look at the hazards your employees are exposed to and what actions have you taken to protect your employees.
This class will cover:
• OSHA Regulations regarding PPE
• PPE Assessment Form including the recent OSHA changes
• Assessing potential hazards facing employees
• How to complete the Assessment Form
• Look at possible PPE that are applicable
The Assessment Form can be taken back to your workplace to be reviewed by the appropriate people to certify the hazards and PPE.
